Privacy Policy — Weftly
Last updated: 6 August 2026
Weftly does not collect your data. There is no account, no server, and no analytics. Everything you record stays on your iPhone.
We can state this plainly because it is a property of how the app is built, not a promise about how we behave: the app contains no networking code at all. It cannot send your information anywhere, to us or to anyone else. The one exception is buying a subscription, which is carried out by Apple rather than by the app — see Purchases below.
What the app stores, and where
Weftly records what you choose to enter:
- the hours you log against the twelve categories
- goals, events, and followed daily routines
- optional daily notes, spending amounts, and weight entries
- your display name and, if you choose one, a profile photo
- your preferences (theme, sound, units, currency)
All of it is written to a private database inside the app's own storage on your device, and to your device's standard app preferences. None of it is transmitted. We never see it.
If you have enabled iCloud Backup, your device may include Weftly's data in your own encrypted Apple backup. That is a function of iOS and your Apple account, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, and the developer of Weftly has no access to it.
What we do not do
- We do not collect, sell, share, or transmit personal information.
- We do not use analytics, advertising, or any third-party SDK.
- We do not track you across apps or websites.
- We do not create user accounts or ask you to sign in.
- We do not use your data to train any model.
Photos
If you set a profile photo, the app uses the standard iOS photo picker. That picker runs outside the app and hands back only the single image you chose, so Weftly never gets access to your photo library. The image is stored on your device with the rest of your data.
Notifications
If you turn on reminders for routines or events, notifications are scheduled locally on your device by iOS. There are no push notifications and no server involved. You can turn them off at any time in iOS Settings.
Apple Intelligence
On devices that support it, Weftly may use Apple's on-device Foundation Models to phrase a sentence more naturally. This processing happens entirely on your device. No text is sent to us or to Apple's servers. On devices without it, the app uses built-in wording instead, and nothing is lost.
Purchases
Weftly is free to use. An optional subscription, Legacy, unlocks the parts of the app that look back over your record — the full Yearly Tapestry, the Month and Year views in Insights, the routine builder, and the celestial themes. Logging your hours is never behind it.
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. The app asks Apple whether a purchase is active and stores only that yes-or-no answer on your device. We never see your name, your payment details, or your Apple Account — Apple does not give them to us, and the app has no way to send them anywhere. Billing is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, and you can manage or cancel a subscription in iOS Settings under your Apple Account.
If a subscription ends, nothing you have already recorded is removed or hidden. You keep your log in full.
Taking your data with you
Profile → Privacy → Export My Data writes everything the app holds — every logged hour, goal, event, note, weight and amount — into a single JSON file, and hands it to the standard iOS share sheet. It is a plain text format you can open in any text editor, on purpose: a copy you cannot read is not really yours.
Nothing is uploaded. The app has no network code and no server to send anything to. The file is created on your device and goes only where you choose to send it — saved to Files, AirDropped, attached to an email. Once it leaves the app it is an ordinary file in your hands, and whatever you send it through is covered by that service's own privacy policy, not this one. We never receive it and never know it exists.
Import a Backup, beneath it, reads such a file back. It shows you what the file contains and writes nothing until you confirm, and it only ever restores into an empty app — so it can never overwrite or merge into days you have already logged.
Deleting your data
You are in control of everything the app holds:
- In the app: Profile → Privacy → Erase All Data permanently deletes every logged hour, goal, event, note, and preference on the device. It cannot be undone.
- Deleting the app removes all of its data along with it.
Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for you to request from us and nothing for us to delete on our side.
Both are permanent, so Export My Data sits directly above them in the app if you would like to keep a copy first.
Children
Weftly is a personal journal and is not directed at children under 13. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever gains a feature that changes how data is handled, this policy will be updated before that feature ships, and the change will be described here with a new date at the top.
